Nanaho Okuni presenting her research to HIA students

Guest Lecture: Career Path

Himalayan International Academy welcomed Nanaho Okuni, a PhD candidate researching the sociology of education, for a special guest lecture at our school. Her work focuses on the education of 1.5 generation migrant students in Japan.

Students from Grade 7 to Grade 9 heard her personal journey, from her own path into research to student life at the University of Tokyo. The session gave them a rare chance to ask a young researcher about her studies and her choices.

Our students left inspired, reminded that their own multicultural journeys can be a source of strength and opportunity. We thank Nanaho San for sharing her time and her story with the HIA family.
