Himalayan International Academy (HIA), established in 2021, is an emerging educational institution located in Edogawa, Tokyo, Japan, with convenient access via the JR Sobu Line and the Keisei Line. One of the international school in Japan founded by the Nepalese community and promoting the Nepalese curriculum, HIA plays a pivotal role in promoting cross-cultural understanding and fostering educational exchange, catering to a diverse student body.
Currently, HIA offers a range of educational programs, including early childhood education for kindergarten-aged students and school education through Grade 7. The institution has outlined plans for future expansion, with the introduction of Grade 8 slated for April 2025.
The school seeks to deliver a high-quality education that prioritizes the holistic development of students. This includes fostering multilingual proficiency, enhancing cognitive skills through STEAM education, promoting values of mutual respect, and encouraging students to critically examine their roles in various contexts. The overarching objective is to serve expatriate communities from diverse backgrounds, while also promoting diversity among both faculty and students. In doing so, the institution aspires to create a global educational environment that prepares students for successful careers in an increasingly interconnected world.

Towards Excellence...
Our professional yet friendly teachers ensure that children enjoy the class and help them to learn more effectively.
Schools is the second home of child, thus we have created healthy, protective, and friendly enviroment.
We look the ways to make learning fun, accessible and meaningful. If learning isn’t fun, it won’t be effective.
HIA is committed to provide a platform to meet the unique educational needs, interests, goals, and aspirations of each of its students. To accomplish this goal, currently HIA is deploying two academic levels, Kindergarten and Primary (Elementery) Level. We are planning to upgrade for Secondary and High School level in near future.
Our kindergarten is fully based on Montessory practice introduced by Maria Montessory. The learning is based on the activities and tasks conducted by students. The role of teacher is more of a guide, rather than the instructor.
